Nitesh Ratnakar, M.D., FACG
Nitesh Ratnakar, M.D., FACG completed his training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Wisconsin Medical School where he also finished his training in advanced therapeutic endoscopy. Dr. Ratnakar completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Chicago Medical School. He graduated medical school from University of Delhi / Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, India. He has obtained board certification in Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. He has been awarded fellowship of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG). Dr. Ratnakar is the West Virginia Governor of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and is a member of the task force of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) on innovations in endoscopy. Dr. Ratnakar consults on all aspects of digestive and liver diseases and has a special interest in therapeutic endoscopy, pancreaticobiliary endoscopy, colon cancer screening, nonsurgical treatment of hemorrhoids and ablative therapy for Barrett’s esophagus. Dr. Ratnakar has special training and interest in Geriatric Medicine and provides expert care to seniors with digestive and liver diseases. Dr. Ratnakar has consulted on several high profile international patients from Russia, Africa, and India. Dr. Ratnakar is on the clinical faculty at West Virginia University School of Medicine and West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. Outside of medicine, Dr. Ratnakar’s interests include tennis, traveling, flying and charitable work.
Daniel Shats, M.D., M.B.A.
Daniel Shats, M.D., M.B.A. was raised in Toronto, Canada where he pursued studies in economics and marketing prior to attending medical school at Ross University. Dr. Shats completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology & liver diseases at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Camden, NJ. Dr. Shats has a special interest in colonoscopy, polyp removal, advanced therapeutic ERCP and endoscopic management of bariatric surgery complications. A member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, Dr. Shats boasts an adenoma detection rate of 45%. He is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending free time with his wife and two young children. Dr. Shats is on the clinical faculty at West Virginia University School of Medicine.
George Goetz, M.D., Ph.D.
George Goetz, M.D., Ph.D. grew up in South Bend, IN and received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Brown University in Providence, RI in 1981. He moved to New York City where he received his MD degree, as well as a doctorate in molecular biology from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1989. He then completed internship and residency in internal medicine at Indiana University and Washington University in St. Louis, MO. His fellowship in gastroenterology was completed at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Goetz was a faculty member of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock before joining a gastroenterology group in Indianapolis in 2000. Dr. Goetz practices all aspects of gastroenterology and hepatology and has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease and infectious diarrhea. He is a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP), the American Gastoenterological Association (AGA) and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, canoeing and other outdoor activities. Dr. Goetz is on the clinical faculty at West Virginia University School of Medicine.
Sam Nassar, M.D.
Sam Nassar, M.D. completed his M.D. at Damascus University Medical School. He completed his Internship and Residency training at Case Western University Hospitals. He finished his fellowship training at Allegheny Health System, Pittsburgh. He has privileges at Trinity Health System and WVU – Reynolds Memorial Hospital. He has office locations in Saint Clairsville, Steubenville, Glendale, Wheeling Pittsburgh, and Canton. Dr. Nassar and his wife have lived in the Ohio Valley for over 25 years.
Tesla Kinemond, FNP-BC
Tesla Kinemond, FNP-BC was born and raised in the Ohio Valley graduating from Shadyside High School. She earned her Registered Nursing degree at WVNCC. While practicing as an ICU nurse, she continued her education earning a Masters in Science in Nursing with a focus as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Tesla enjoys spending time with her fiance and their son. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG). She sees patients in Wheeling, Wintersville, Weirton, Bellaire, and Glendale. She has privileges at Wheeling Hospital, WVU – Reynolds Memorial Hospital, and Weirton Medical Center.
Renee Rennick, PA-C
Renee Rennick, PA-C is a West Virginia native. She attended John Marshall High School in Glen Dale, WV and graduated from West Virginia University where she completed undergraduate studies in biology before earning her physician assistant degree from Alderson-Broaddus University in Philippi, WV. A member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), Renee resides in Wheeling with her son and is a member of the Vineyard Church of Wheeling.
